Nigel Clarcke BBU associate composer
 Brassband Buizingen is zeer vereerd Nigel Clarke te mogen verwelkomen als associate composer. De band werkte nauw samen met Nigel in 2009 en voerde zijn Swift Severn's Flood uit in première op het WMC te Kerkrade. Beide partijen verheugen zich op de samenwerking.
Nigel Clarke is geen vreemde in de brassbandwereld: van 1994 tot 2000 was hij immers Composer-in-Residence bij de Black Dyke Band.
De componist aan het woord: “I am thrilled to be Associate Composer to this wonderful band, it’s 10 years since I worked with Black Dyke and I feel excited to renew and extend my experience in this genre. The first large-scale work I plan to write for Brass Band Buizingen will be entitled `Earthrise’ referring to the iconic photograph of the Earth taken by William Anders whilst orbiting the Moon during the 1968 Apollo 8 mission. In this work I aim to exploit and explore the band’s virtuosity, sense of drama and lyrical musicianship.”
