JEROEN VERLEDEN - principal Bb bass

Jeroen Verleden was born in Izegem on the 1st of september 1984. Hejeroen verleden started playing the euphonium at the age of 9 at the local music academy of Izegem, first with Bert Decavel and later with Jozef Seynaeve.

At the age of 13, Jeroen changed from euphonium to tuba and at the age of 16 went to Ghent to study at the arts high school for music and dance, where his teacher was Geert Verschaeve.

Jeroen studied at the conservatory of Ghent with Guy Audenaert and obtained a master's degree in music, with distinction.

During the year 2005-2006, Jeroen studied at the royal college of music in Stockholm, with professor Michael Lind (tuba) and professor Sven-Erik Eriksson (chamber music).

Jeroen also attended many masterclasses with Sergio Finca (SP), Melvin Culbertson (USA), Walter Hilgers (D), James Gourlay (UK) and Markus Hötzel (D).

As a professional player, Jeroen cooperated with the Spectra ensemble, the Hermes ensemble, the Flemish Wind Orchestra, the Symphony orchestra of Flanders and the Banda Azufaifo.

Jeroen is also at home in the world of wind bands. He was part of the wind band koninklijke harmonie de Congregatie of Izegem (1996-2000), Metropole Brass Band (2000-2007), Brass Band Midden Brabant (2001-2002) and Solna Brass (2005-2006) and was the conductor of wind band Deugd en Vreugd of Gits (2003-2005).

Today, Jeroen plays with Brass Band Pant Rhei Ghent, conducted by Paul Voet and Brass Band Buizingen, conducted by Luc Vertommen. Jeroen is a teacher of low brass in the music academy of Ghent.
