EMMANUEL REYNAERTS - solo baritone

emmanuel reynaertsEmmanuel Reynaerts started studying the trumpet with Clément Van Hove (Band of the Belgian Guides) at the Academy of Gooik at a very young age and switched rather quickly over to trombone whereupon his carrier expanded quickly. After a “first price” for trombone and chamber music at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels with José Schyns (Band of the Belgian Guides), he completed his education with Ivan Meylemans (Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam) where he graduated in 2002.

In 2004 he obtained the degree band conducting magna cum laude with Luc Vertommen and since 2005 he conducts the Koninklijke Fanfare Eendracht Maakt Macht from Lot and since 2008 the Cecilia Concertband of Geraardsbergen.

As a teacher he is linked to the International School of Brussels where he was High School Band Assistant for two years. He is also involved with the youth education of Brass Friends Lembeek since 2006 and of the Koninklijke Fanfare Eendracht Maakt Macht of Lot since 2005.

Besides he works often as freelance musician with many symphonic orchestras, concert bands, fanfares and brass bands among which the concerts with Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Riccardo Chailly stands out.

In 1999 he was appointed principal trombone of Brass Band Buizingen and since 2007 he holds the place of solo baritone in the same band.

He often participated to traineeships and master classes in Belgium as well as abroad and won in 2001 the first price of the Flemish Brass Band Federation’s National Soloists’ Championships.

Furthermore he was board member of many associations as “Jeugd en Muziek” and the Cultural Council of his home village of Bever. He is e.g. currently the president of the Wind Foundation, a private foundation for the benefit of wind music.
