In the course of its first Festival of Cultural  Achievement, the town of Halle crowned three ‘Cultural Ambassadors’ from amongst its partners in culture - Brass Band Buizingen is one of the three, alongside Sofie Dumont (Lady Chef of the Year 2009, known through the TV Programme « Goe Gebakken ») and the Confrérie du Vaantjesboer.

The international profile gained at the highest level of musical performance over the course of several years won this accolade for Brass Band Buizingen.

The Festival of Cultural Merit is an idea realised by councillor Mark Demesmaeker – it is a significant addition to the annual recognition which cultural partners of the town gain by nomination to the « Cultuurduivel », an organisation which is part of the Cultural Council of the ton of Halle.

Brass Band Buizingen is greatly honoured to receive this award and thanks the town of Halle for its recognition.
